About the company:
Our client is headquartered in New York and Los Angeles, with additional offices throughout North America, Europe and India.
They collaborate with each client to deliver customized business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions that range in complexity from individual transaction-based functions, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, to full-service finance and accounting, including general ledger accounting, SEC financial reporting and risk management.
Your Role:
* To remotely manage oceanic voyages of cargo vessels in international waters.
Required Skills:
*High school diploma;
*Knowledge of the sea, ports, ship functions,etc.;
*Sea Experience on cargo ships;
*Excellent English;
*Excellent computer skills;
*Very good organizational skills.
Your responsibilities:
*Operational responsibility for a group of Time and Voyage chartered Vessels;
*Daily involvement with the relevant business unit;
*Follow the customer’s requirements and establish a clear working relationship with customers;
*Formal meeting with freight traders;
*Align with the business units / external customers in pre-planning port calls,
D/A’s and port restrictions;
*Ensure that all physical constraints are known to the freight trader;
*Ensure all pre-fixing notes are obtained from trader;
*Study freight element of commodity contract on voyage business;
*Highlight discrepancies / omissions;
*Obtain all relevant cargo information;
*Obtain all relevant information as required to complete charterer’s
questionnaire.
*Prepare / issue instructions once a full fixture recap and an estimate has been received from trader;
*Appoint weather routing / weather monitoring service as necessary. Review weather routing analysis
and vessel log abstracts and prepare performance claim as necessary;
*Verify Master’s cargo intake calculation consistent with the sales contract /bunker plans / port and
vessel restrictions;
*Communicate at appropriate level with - Freight trader, Vessel, Customer, Agents, Commodity
forwarders, Commodity merchants, Shippers / receivers;
*Alert as appropriate any changes in vessel ETA’s ;all other items affecting vessel’s movements;
*Nominate agents at load / discharge ports and ensure appropriate instructions issued;
*Co-ordinate Bunker requirements;
*B/L release / prepare LOI’s as necessary.
